Mulled Spice Whole.

Quantity: 50g

Contents:

Whole spices of cinnamon quills, cloves, nutmeg and star anise.

Uses:

Warm your winter red wine and flavour and decorate it with our whole mulled spice mix.

Traditional Mulled Wine Recipe:

4 clementines, satsumas or tangerines.

1 vanilla pod

8 whole cloves, 8 whole allspice berries ( pimento ), 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 star anise, 

3 bay leaves

300g caster sugar

2 / 750ml bottles red wine

200ml brandy

Non-alcholic version use cranberry, pomegranate or red grape juice.

Cut the clementines into 4 to 5 pieces & place into a large saucepan.Split the vanilla pod & add with the herbs / spices to the pan.Stir in the sugar & then pour over the wine / brandy,  placing the pan over a low heat for 15 mins, stirring occasionally.Remove the pan from the heat & stand for 1 to 4 hours to allow the flavours to blend.Heat through gently again without boiling, then ladle into heatproof cups & serve.
